This is my last week having lesson on EIR. Throughout the lessons, I really learnt a lot of stuff, especially on the search facilities, as it will be useful to me in the future. Thank to EIR, I now have more knowledge and understanding on Internet.

We had another group work for today. This is my first time be the member of Wiki.

Just now, I had been accessing on my EIR-Rawkz Wiki to edit information about a topic- cyberbullying on cyberspace.

We were asked to discuss in our group for which part of the information to be put up in the Wiki page.

This is my first experience on putting up information onto the Wiki webpage. It was quite fun as to see my own information being show out.

Class test 2! I got 13/20. I didn’t really score well, but at least I had made some improvement on the last test. This test is testing us about elaborating Internet resources. It helps me remember more clearly on what are the critical of elaborating Internet resources.

Following up next, we had a group activity. We were to assume that we had been appointed the new CEO of YouTube and had to answer some of the questions given. Every group was then present their answer.

For me, YouTube doesn’t really play an important role of my life. This was because there are many other websites for watching videos. For example, there are Tudo, Video Google Search and etc. Therefore, if YouTube does not exist, it doesn’t really matter to me.

However, if there is no other search facilities for videos search except YouTube. I think I can’t live without YouTube. As searching for videos become part of my life. I used to search for drama in my free time. Watching drama is my favorite passing time. Thus, if YouTube doesn’t exist, I think my life will be very boring and stressful. YouTube had brought me a lot of entertainment.

Other than searching drama or shows, there still have other purpose. We can use it as search facilities for researching our information. For example, I can use it to search videos which relates to my topic. Using video to present will be much better than using just words, as moving image attract more attention.

My Dream Holiday!

My dream place will be a place where the environment is all natural-made. One of the natural places that I would like to go will be the beach. I would rather choose to go to those natural places than to the man-made places. Breathing the fresh air allows me to relax from my stressful lifestyle. Therefore I dream that one day, I can go to Kelong, to see the beautiful sea scenery and those fishes in the sea.

I had found a website regarding the Kelong I would like to visit. The Kelong name is Kawal Kelong, the website is http://maomao130.tripod.com/accomodation.htm.

It is a multimedia website, as there were lots of pictures being posted up there. It contains images of the sea scenery and the room pictures. Having to look at the pictures, it tells me that the Kelong is a very nice and relaxing place. Furthermore, it also had pictures of the room. This allows us to know what kind of features they have in the room and let us realize that the room is not as dirty as we think. They also provide pictures to tell us which kind of activities they have. For example, there are Banana Boat, a pool table and etc.

The purpose of this Internet Resources is mainly on information and personal.

From all the pictures and the description, I can see that it tells me what kind of facilities they provide and how do the place look like. The information also includes the link to buy the ticket to go to the place. This website had given me all the information that I need to know about the Kawal Kelong.

This website is designed in a personal way. From the look of the website, I can see that it was posted by the people living on the Kelong. This was because there are some links that he had write about his favorite activity and food in the Kawal Kelong.

The conclusion was, although it is a personal website, but it had provided information about Kawal Kelong.

After looking all the pictures, I really had an urge to go Kawal Kelong.

We had our first class test today. Although I got 11/20 for the class test, but I had try my best.

After this test, I understand more of the Internet resources and realise where is my mistake.

The lecture for today is about evaluating the information on the Internet. Then we had an activity for us to practice on evaluating the information. We were asked to go into a website call talkingcork.com. This is a website for people to post their view about Singapore. But most of the post was joking about Singapore.

In our group, we were asked to evaluate the information on the talkingcork.com website as a stand of a Singaporean. From a Singaporean view, I can say that this website is quite useful in a way for letting us to express out our opinions of the things going on in Singapore.

I really enjoy this activity as it turn out to be quite fun. We had to debate against the other two groups. Through this activity, I had know more on evaluating Internet information.

I’m really looking forward for the next lesson.
